DATE/TIME: 9/october/2007 (6.30 p.m.) - IDENTIFICATION AND BEHAVIOUR: One female goldcrest is feeding in small bushes at the border of an oak wood. It is hopping and flying in the scrub. - POSITION: Poderone near Magliano in Toscana, LAT. N. 42° 36'/LONG. E 11° 16' - ALTITUDE: +130 m. - VOCALIZATION TYPE: contact calls. - SEX/AGE: adult female. - COMMENT: The spectrograms show 3 call types, whose remarkable difference cannot be easily appreciated by ear. The last spectrogram offers a different representation of the first call type (with an enhanced time scale). Recording background: Blackbird calls and Robin song (far). - MIC: (P)

DATE/TIME: 8/november/2012 (11.30 a.m.) - IDENTIFICATION AND BEHAVIOUR: Two female goldcrests are feeding on a spruce tree. Zone with spruce wood and meadows. - POSITION: Poggio all'Olmo near Stribugliano, LAT. N. 42°51' /LONG. E 11°28' - ALTITUDE: +950 m. - VOCALIZATION TYPE: contact calls. - SEX/AGE: adult female. - COMMENT: The spectrograms show 2 call types different from those recorded in Recording 1. Time interval between calls has been reduced in the audio sample and in the spectrograms. - MIC: (P)

DATE/TIME: 8/november/2012 (00.15 p.m.) - IDENTIFICATION AND BEHAVIOUR: Two female goldcrests are feeding on a spruce tree. Same place as above. - POSITION: Poggio all'Olmo near Stribugliano, LAT. N. 42°51' /LONG. E 11°28' - ALTITUDE: +950 m. - VOCALIZATION TYPE: contact calls. - SEX/AGE: adult female. - COMMENT: The spectrograms show 2 call types different from those of Recording 1 and 2. Only three recordings revealed at least six different call types. Background: wing beats of goldcrests and crossbills subsong (far). Time interval between calls has been reduced in the audio sample and in the spectrograms. - MIC: (P)

DATE/TIME: 6/november/2015 (11.30 a.m.) - IDENTIFICATION AND BEHAVIOUR: In an artificial wood of silver fir there is a Goldcrest feeding in a tree (well in sight). - POSITION: Stribugliano, LAT. N. 42°51' /LONG. E 11°28' - ALTITUDE: +950 m. - VOCALIZATION TYPE: contact calls. - SEX/AGE: unknown. - COMMENT: The spectrograms show at least 3 different call types. The audio sample was part of a longer recording (see specrogram time axis). - MIC: (P)

DATE/TIME: 4/november/2016 (8 a.m.) - IDENTIFICATION AND BEHAVIOUR: In a mixed forest some Goldcrests answer to playback and approach the recordist. They are on a small fir (well in sight). - POSITION: Stribugliano, LAT. N. 42°51' /LONG. E 11°28' - ALTITUDE: +950 m. - VOCALIZATION TYPE: song and calls. - SEX/AGE: unknown. - COMMENT: The audio sample was part of a longer recording (see specrogram time axis for time interval between calls).
